Dawes is a consumer and B2B DIY tool and paint retailer established in London for over 60 years. The online offering echoes the physical retail outlet but allows them to reach a wider target. The store links into their EPOS system and stock management to allow complete control of their online store. The main target user is consumer targeted but with trade as a secondary target.


The product offering needed a fast efficient and intuitive UI and UX and so the headless Magento option with PWA front-end was recommended.


PWA front-end headless Magento offers a fluid mobile-like experience to the target audience and the user journey is far slicker than alternatives, so as to increased CRO (Conversion Rate Optimisation). Stock management and linking to a retail EPOS system was of major importance whilst having a platform that has the scalability to grow with their ambitions as a supplier of DIY/trade tools and paint.


Origin evolved the brand logo ID and gave Dawes a brand personality to compete with the larger DIY stores. The platform allows for up-selling, cross-selling and reporting metrics for optimising sales.
